DAY 9 - VICTOR HARBOUR TO CLARE VALLEY- 6TH MAY 2014

This morning packed up the van and started the drive from Victor Harbour up through Adelaide to the Clare Valley wine district. If you love your wines you will not be disappointed in the Clare Valley there are so many wineries. I would describe it as a wine lovers paradise. Not a bad drive really apart from the road works in Adelaide and an expressway that was shut. We had a couple of false turns but we soon got back on the Main South Beach road and we were on our way. Main south beach road eventually turned into Main North beach road and we were through the city. Keith wanted to check out his old house in Salisbury East where he lived as a young boy just out from the mother country so we had a slight detour to check that out and he could walk down memory lane. After this little detour we checked out Wiki camps and decided to stay at a small caravan park in Leasingham. Park owners very friendly and one even parked our van for us as the site where we were put was very tight. We visited a couple of wineries one called Jeanneret wines (where we hoped to catch up with a mate of Keiths from work but he was away)  we bought some very nice grape cider called Miss Molly - very reasonably priced - to have with dinner. Then we checked out Greg Cooley wines where we patted their lovely greyhound Mickey and bought a very nice 10 year old muscat which was quickly secreted in the van. All in all a good day. Early to bed as could not get TV reception.
