FLINDERS RANGES - RAWNSLEY PARK STATION 11TH MAY 2014
Today is mothers day so my fantastic hubby decided he would cook me breaky in bed pancakes and coffee. Thank you much appreciated. Then he went off on his bike to do a little of the Mawson trail and climb up to Rawnsley Bluff which afforded magnificent views. He was away a few hours so I did a load of washing and read a book (so much easier to clean a van 10mins as opposed to 2 days at home). When he returned we had lunch and went for a drive out to Sacred Canyon which is very near to the entrance to Wilpena Pound (18kms from Rawnsley) you turn right and drive about 13kms to a very pretty canyon with aboriginal rock art in it. We took some photos and went back to the van got our bikes and went for a ride for about 45 minutes. Tonight as it's mothers day there was a special dinner on at the Woolshed on the station 2 courses for $35. We had an enjoyable evening (had a few drinks) and met some lovely people. Going to Port Augusta tomorrow to stock up on groceries before heading north.
Sacred Canyon and aboriginal rock art.
