10TH MAY 2014 - RAWNSLEY PARK STATION
Left about 9.30am this morning with a packed lunch for a full day out sightseeing. We began by driving to Wilpena Pound 17kms away. Went for a hike to Wangarra Lookout for a good look at the pound and to take some photos. It was a beautiful day today about 22deg and sunny so the hike was really enjoyable. There is a shuttle bus that can take you from the resort nearly to the end of the hike but as it was such a nice day we decided to walk. It was fairly flat until the last 20 minutes or so when you climb up to the top of the hill to the lookout. After walking back to the information centre we had our lunch and then took a drive to various spots. We drove through Bunyeroo Gorge, Brachina Gorge, and Blinman where we had a coffee at the Lime Cafe (the old schoolhouse) and Keith walked up the hill to the war memorial.
After leaving Blinman we drove through Parachilna Gorge to Parachilna where the main thing there seems to be the pub the Prairie Hotel where they serve up Emu, Camel and Kangeroo. We then drove along the Moralana scenic drive back to Rawnsley getting back about 5pm. I was glad we got back when we did as we were losing the light and there were quite a few roos about. We also saw emus and a herd of feral goats.

Feral goats we saw on the side of the road.
