VICTOR HARBOUR BEACHFRONT CARAVAN PARK
This morning we decided to go for a ride before breakfast upto the bluff which is just off the bike trail out the front of the park. The ride was about 8kms, steep uphill but what a view at the top. Right across Encounter Bay you could see all the Granite Islands dotted about the bay and the Norfolk pines along the beachfront - very pretty.
When we got back to the park had breaky and walked into town and took the horse drawn tram across to Granite Island. Granite island has it's own penguin colony and there is also a kiosk and several walks around the island giving different views. The horse drawn trams are pulled by clydesdales and our horse was just learning - he had only been in the job for a couple of weeks. He was a bit enthusiastic I thought he was going to run away with us at one point but he soon got into the swing of it. The trip across by tram was $7 one way and $9 return. Worth the trip - we did it one way for a different perspective and we walked across the other way.
On the way back to the CP it started raining just for something different so we picked up groceries and checked out the library for the afternoon. Keith decided to ride back upto the bluff for practice and because he liked the view.
